Spring has sprung at Soleil. The flowers blooming, the birds are chirping, and the trees greening up with bright, new leaves. It’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the season’s warm days and cool nights. Lucky for us, our location offers a lot of fun, outdoorsy things to do nearby. From farmers markets to concerts, to festivals, here’s a list of the 10 best:

Canton First Friday

This is a family-fun block party that is held monthly in downtown Canton. The event includes a car show, live music, food, and plenty of good times for all ages.

When: First Friday, May-October, 6 pm

Where: Historic downtown Canton loop


Farmers Market at River Church

This farmers market includes local and regionally grown fresh produce, unique artisan giftware, and tasty food. It’s an excellent way to stock up on local, fresh produce.

When: Every Tuesday, Starting April 30th – November, 2-6 pm

Where: River Church, 2335 Sixes Road


Canton Farmers Market

Now in its 11th year at Cannon Park in downtown Canton, this market is a Georgia-grown, producer-only market. Here you can indulge in the best in homegrown produce, fresh baked goods, seafood, meat, pasta, eggs, and other local artisanal items.

When: Every Saturday, May 11-October 12, 9 am-1 pm (rain or shine)

Where: Cannon Park, Downtown Canton.


Woodstock Farm Fresh Market

This year’s Market will feature events from the Cherokee County Farm Bureau, cooking demonstrations from local chefs, and live music. The rules require vendors to grow at least 85% of the produce they bring to the market, helping to ensure the majority is locally grown and fresh.

When: Every Saturday, April 20 through December, 8:30 am-12 pm

Where: Market Street in downtown Woodstock


Cherokee Indian Festival and Pow Wow

Experience excellent Native American entertainment, arts and crafts, music and food. Learn or participate in earth cooking, flint knapping, archery, blowgun demonstrations, fire-by-friction, and more. Delicious Native American cuisine includes buffalo burgers, gator tail, roasted corn, Indian fry bread, Indian tacos, and other cultural dishes.

When: May 11, 10 am-6pm and May 12, 11 am-6 pm

Where: Boling Park in Canton


Woodstock Bacon & Banjos

Enjoy all things bacon while listening to live bluegrass music (focusing on the music of North Georgia) which will be on the main stage all day. There will also be a craftsman alley with rustic creations for sale.

When: May 18, 11am–6pm

Where: Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater


Chukkar Farm Polo Matches

Chukkar Farm offers a live polo match to the public. Come out and enjoy the ‘Sport of Kings’ in a casual atmosphere. Bring a picnic lunch and your lawn chairs.

When: Every Sunday (April – October) 2 pm–4 pm

Chukkar Farm Concerts

Enjoy high-quality concerts in a gorgeous atmosphere that is as intimate as it is relaxed. All concerts are “Chastain-style” so bring your own picnic, tablecloths, candles, etc. Note: There are no food or beverage services at the venue.
