Looking for something fun to do after the Christmas holiday? Being the in the location that we’re in, we’re quite fortunate to have easy access to the heart of Georgia Wine Country. Many of the wineries are offering fun tastings and tours during this time of year. Why not check one or two of these out? (With a designated driver, of course!) Some have cafes and restaurants too, giving a chance to nosh on delectable foods while indulging in your favorite wines.

Newest to the scene is this special vineyard in Blue Ridge. At 1832 feet above sea level, with a cool mountain breeze, and rich and unique soils, the location is perfect for producing high-quality wines. Try their newest Cabernet — it’s stunning! Also, consider a stay in their whimsical tree house overlooking the vineyard.

Touted as a fantastic “boutique” winery, Tiger Mountain cultivates all of its grapes and produces all of its handcrafted wines in the mountains of Rabun County. Using old-world methods, they produce traditional dry wines in the European style.

Having started in 2015, Cenita is relatively new to the scene. All of their estate wines are grown on three acres of land which produces approximately 1000 cases of wine annually. In fact, all of their wines are processed, cellared, and bottled on site.

The owner of Cavender Creek Vineyards, Claire Livingston eagerly states, “Our mission is simple: We want to make good wines and provide a warm, friendly place for our guests to enjoy them.” This is a fun place to visit, as you’ll get to see their famous mascots — Sicilian donkeys, who are featured on their wine labels and logos.

And here’s one more place to visit while you’re out and about — us! Being in Canton, Georgia has its advantages, as we’re close to the beautiful North Georgia mountains.
